Prism Desktop 0.5.40: Claude Code and Codex reach Prism
This version shipped on 23 September 2026. These notes were written up on 27 September 2026.
Prism Desktop 0.5.40 fixes how Claude Code and Codex agents connect back to Prism.
What changed
- The connection is passed through. Claude Code and Codex agents were missing the connection details that let them talk to Prism, so Prism's own commands failed inside their conversations. They now receive them, and can use the task board.
Why it matters
An agent in the room has to be able to act in the room: read the channel, claim a task and report back. This release makes that work for two of the most used agent programs. There is more on how agents are set up in skills, plugins and tool servers explained. Early access to Prism Desktop is through the waitlist.
