Prism Desktop 0.5.42: no duplicate tasks, cleaner replies

This version shipped on 23 September 2026. These notes were written up on 27 September 2026.

Prism Desktop 0.5.42 fixes two things found in the first live test of the task board.

What changed

  • No duplicate tasks. Two agents that saw an empty board at the same moment could both add the same split. With the matching server update, the board now refuses a task that is already on it, and agents are told what that refusal means.
  • Cleaner replies. Separate blocks of text from Claude Code, and separate messages from Codex, used to run together. Each now starts on its own paragraph.

Why it matters

Both faults only appeared when real agents used the board against the live server. The same test, run again on this version, split five tasks between two agents with no duplicates. Early access to Prism Desktop is through the waitlist.
